Re: Discussion Board
I'll start this off by saying please check your draft positions against your trades. I did my best but they become very confusing between years and especially when a pick is traded multiple times. In the future managers need to take more responsibility with keeping track of what pick they are actually trading.

Re: Discussion Board
Can you please discuss if I will be rewarded any compensation for Yordan Ventura. Also give some thought to compensation for Jose Fernandez in 30 man dynasty. I will probably be able to get as many replacement managers as you need from BJMB. PM me when you can.

Re: Discussion Board
I can tell you without looking that there is nothing stated about it in the League Constitution. I don't remember what if any compensation was given for Tavares. I wasn't a commissioner at the time but I did own Nick Adenhart and Greg Halman. I did not receive compensation after either death.

Re: Discussion Board
If Dutchmen (Team DL) did receive compensation it didn't come through the draft, maybe waivers but I seriously doubt and don't recall that.

Re: Discussion Board
Okay. I thought there was. It happens in every other dynasty league I'm in. In my 30 team advanced stats dynasty the owner of Fernandez got Maitan and rights to Otani. I would not have expected that, but I am amazed that there isn't. Okay.

Re: Discussion Board
I'm not saying there shouldn't be though that seems pretty rich. I don't even want to get into Otani. But what's the difference between a career ending injury (Prince Fielder) and a sudden death in fantasy terms? I'll convene with the other commissioners when things get going.

Re: Discussion Board
Goodness, I would have thought at a pick at the end of first or second round would be reasonable. The difference is baseball injury versus, a catastrophic occurrence outside of baseball. Obviously whoever owned Jose Fernandez would have a better compensation versus Ventura. I was just giving an example that it is pretty common to award compensation. I think the compensation in my League of Despair was too great. I would propose a pick given to the owners at the end of the first round, or something.

Re: Discussion Board
We agree on the compensation being to great and again I'm speaking on my own behalf not for all 3, and I'm not necessarily against compensation. But it does open a can of worms. The value of each player is arbitrary, we can agree Fernandez was better than Ventura but by how much? Who decides that and who decides what's fair compensation? As a manager (not commish) I feel I shouldn't be penalized for your misfortune, I'm playing for money and the draft is jacked as it is. So yeah, if I effectively lose a draft position I'm not going to be too happy about it.

Re: Discussion Board
Okay, I can appreciate that. Have the discussion, and maybe if we can have a poll, it would make it clear what the league wants. Its true that a pitcher can become irrelevant at any time, with an arm injury anyway.

Re: Discussion Board
If compensation happens I'd prefer waiver order, like getting a freebee waiver claim or something, I could live with that.

2017 Draft Amendments :
Round 3 - We are listed as having a draft pick (pick 14) from Venice; not ours, as best as we can tell. We did trade rd 3 pick 18 to Chones, which is reflected.
Round 5- Pick 18 should remain ours; it's Venice's right now.
Our picks:
Round 1, Pick 18
Round 4, Pick 1 (from Chones)
Round 4, Pick 18
Round 5, Pick 1 (from Chones)
Round 5, Pick 18
Round 6, Pick 18

Re: Discussion Board
Theres no compensation when a player has a career ending injury. Why would death be any different? It's sad yes but seeking compensation for such misfortune is just plain wrong.

I definitely didn't get compensation for losing OT. However, my entire squad now wears a black OT patch in his memory.

I'm not getting virus attacks. At least I don't think I am. How can you tell? What kind of messages are you getting to let you know about the virus? [I'm on an Apple computer by the way; this may make a difference]

I don't have any problems with viruses but I also have an Apple. I also can use my Android without any problems, I never tried it until a few days ago and was pleased, setup is different but user friendly. I'm also working diligently to streamline the site so everything is as painless as possible.

i get virus attacks on my i phone. It's one of many reasons why we should move to fantrax. Not to open old wounds but it's something that the league voted for. Why bother voting for these things?

Re: Discussion Board
Okay, so the MiLB owned player list and owned by team player list should both be up to the minute. Draft count by team should also be good. Only thing left to do is get the trades processed, hopefully Penny and Larry make appearances soon. Otherwise we'll see you on Thursday!

Yes, that's the plan. The draft starts on Thursday. First up will be the Rolling Chones. Do we need to publicize that better somehow? Is everyone ready?

Every member of the league has been here since 3/8 and there's been a lot of traffic over the weekend. We could put out another reminder but I'm confident this should go smoothly.

Just to give everybody a heads up...my wife is hours-days away from popping. Induction is set to start Friday Night, but her gyno said that she'd be surprised if she lasted that long. Hopefully we can get through the first round before...or I might be a sticking point in the draft.

Interesting to see on far pitchers will fall in this draft; aka the Tommy John discount.
