All the rules and regulations are going to receive a de-Luising and otherwise cleaning up once the MLB draft is finished (read: shortly).

Everyone will get a chance to re-read everything and give input and feedback on any changes (but don't worry, there won't be anything fundamental to the league changed, just things clarified and cleaned up).

We will also be finalizing the league constitution, again accepting feedback and input from all of you founding father GMs.

It might take a little while, and be a little more work, but hey we've got some time until pitchers and catchers report so we might as well get things how we like them.

    Smile

    Stay tuned, more to come!

I am still very opposed to doing a minor league draft, once we start playing on yahoo its going to a pain in the ass for managers and the commissioners:

-managers are going to have to switch back and forth figuring out if someone allready owns a F/A.
    - we allready have 3 DL spots, less usable FA's
    - waiver priority wont be very important
    - Yawkee can still have Jay Bruce
    - commishes will have to be player police, big fun
    - add more crazy rules we cant remember
    - owning players we wont see on any Yahoo list for 2 years gets weird and murkey
-its like playing with imaginary players in a fantasy world - think about it.
    - Sure it sounds fun really its just a hassle

Well, while we appreciate your feedback regarding the MiLB draft, we've already made trades based on picks in said non-MLB draft, so at the very least there will be a MiLB draft this season.

Yes, it could make the yahoo FA pool a little messy if someone doesn't call up a prospect(s) that is available in Yahoo, but we'll need GMs to make sure to double-check here that a guy isn't owned prior to adding.

Most (if not all) minors prospects that are in Yahoo's database at the beginning of the year will be owned, and any added during the year will be put on waivers automatically by yahoo so you'll have ample time to research if a guy is owned prior to submitting a waiver claim.

Anyone caught abusing this process (i.e. adding and starting owned-by-someone-else players) will face consequences likely including (but not limited to) forfeiting the week(s) the infraction(s) occurred.

In all serious, I understand fully what you are saying. Maybe some clown can step up and be in charge of the minors,

some sort of spread sheet, to keep tabs. In other words, pass the buck!

Well there will be no adds to minor league rosters during the season from the FA pool.

Only waiver claims (if someone tries to send a minors-eligible player from their MLB roster to their minors roster), trades, and drops.

    Good idea, jay.

We'll have a commish (probably me) in charge of keeping track of minor league rosters and transactions. I'll have an appropriate spreadsheet. We'll also have a forum for all things minor leagues.

Really, once the season starts, there should be a very minimal amount of minor league action.

In the dynasty league that I am in we have 6 minor leaguers. The entire list is placed in the commish notice in a yahoo plus league by team and his 6 MiLB players. All you need to do before you pick up a known rookie is go to the commish note and hit control F and type in his name and see if he is on the list. If his name isn't on the screen, he is open game for anyone in the league.

I thought it would be a pain too Killers, but it really is pretty easy if we do it this way (in the commish notice)

I say collegiate and HS prep players should be eligible too. On top of that, im pretty sure that my unborn child-to-be (switch-hitting catcher) is gonna be straight dope. I'll probably pick him up for an endgame slot.

In all seriousness.....im stoked for the MiLB draft. Im a yahoo virgin, so i dont know how much of a hassle its gonna be, but in case you havent noticed: im really taking the 'dynasty' idea to heart in this league. The more youngsters to develop, the more fun.

College and prep players will NOT be available.

The MiLB draft will be for minors players that belong to an MLB franchise but have ZERO MLB experience, or foreign players w/o MLB experience that have signed with a MLB team.
