    League suggestions...

Post by #4 Yawkey Way 2 on Sat Dec 01, 2007 2:22 pm

Jay suggested a league constitution / bill of rights that everyone can refer back to.

    Great idea.

Any more ideas you guys have, please post them here!

Soon, we'll give each idea it's own thread, and then we all can brainstorm and contribute where appropriate!

    Thanks!

I have one idea. Maybe, sinece their are 20 teams and 3 commishes, you assign each manager a commish, so one commish might not be harrassed w/ everyone complaints and questions. For example you give MT 6 managers, Lagooner 6 managers and Yawk 5 managers. This way they only have to worry about a few peoples problems.

I like this idea for all things other than trades!! Trades I think we need all commishes making a call. Also might help so that one guy doesn't get stuck doing all the updating.

how are trades going to be handled? Is every trade going to fall under scrutiny or is this a "better be sure this is what you want" league?

Its just things like this that need clarification.

And please believe me when I say, that this is not by any means on original thought on my behalf ( a constitution)......

Oh the trade will only be vetoed by myself if I feel it's collusion or an involved party can't justify the move as an honest attempt to better their team (whether it be now or in the future).

I am not a fan of vetoing lop-sided trades, because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I figure we're all experienced managers here, so you should know enough to prevent being taken by a shark.

Most protests to "lopsided" trades that aren't obvious collusion is more sour grapes than anything, in my experience.

I know that league constitutions aren't a new idea, Jay, but it was a good suggestion regardless because until now we haven't had one. We now have a rough draft of one we're working on, and once we hammer out a few things we'll open it up to the rest of you founding father GMs so we can tweak it to fit the majority of everyone's tastes, wants, and senses of fairness.

I agree with Mark on this one.

Well Ray sucks and he cant even handle himself nevermind 6 guys, lmaooooo

I truly dont think it will matter about giving each commish a set of guys. How many problems will there actually be at one time? I like the idea of 3 commish because they all have their own methods and input and are all mature enough to deal with any problems together. We know they are all knowledgeable and have done a great job so far with any problems or controversy have had already. I think its easier and more satisfying that they deal with any problem as a group. But I seriously believe we wont have many problems to deal with and with the draft over any problems are far behind.

I have a suggestion that Yawkey doesn't respond to month + old threads.
