Pre-draft chatter. I tied with Rust Belters for 2nd so as much as I would prefer to have the 18th rather than the 19th spot, we should figure out who gets which spot through some mechanism. Obviously, arm wrestling is difficult and not a good idea for me anyway, so can a commish flip a coin and tell us who won the 18th spot?

We're just using Yahoo's algorithm. I don't know exactly how they figured out the order but it's just as fair as a coin flip, imo

So I apologize. Yahoo locked me out last night. I have my 8 year old, this weekend. For the first time I have him a full weekend. Since his Mom beat the attacked and beat the crap out of me, as he lay in my arms. I don't want to hold up the draft. And Yahoo, won't let me make the cuts. Since deadline was 12pm PT. I am just going to list here. I had updated somewhat on my Roster page in this forum. But I don't think you guys would see that.

Where is Goodrum? He's on the clock for no. 1 pick. Does he know that?

Some ore-draft trades and already one trade during the draft to move up. This is great!

Quick question: Does my recent trade of MacKenzie Gore free up a fourth MiLB draft slot? Just let me know either way so that I know to really get lost in the weeds reading up on minor league prospects or not

I believe you can fill Gore's spot since it's not a spot that you're opening up because you dropped someone late. But I'll let another commish confirm.

I agree that Lynx should get an additional draft pick due to the Cole for Arozarena/Gore trade. Similarly, Vladdy loses a draft pick.
Please remember that per our constitution, trades involving MiLB players should have an equal number of players from each team. Among other things, this prevents an owner from having more than 12 MiLB players. This deal was quirky in that it occurred in that narrow window between cuts/call ups and the draft.

And you guys are right on about the youngsters in this draft. I also think that teams are getting more aggressive in pushing their advanced teenagers.

So Garrett Crochet is showing up on the MiLB owned list now, looks like he was drafted this week but he's got major league service time so was ineligible to be drafted.

He was eligible. We okayed it through the rules committee since he was selected in the 2020 June draft. I also mentioned him by name in the email about the draft.

It is a tricky case, though. We passed a rule that draftees can't be picked up so there are going to be occasional cases like this one.

Okay, weird. We might want an update on the constitution then.

The only players eligible to be drafted are players with no Major League experience at all, but belong (under contract) to a Major League Baseball team BEFORE the first team is on the clock to select and the Draft officially begins. Any player signed after the Draft begins is not Draft eligible.
